THE COMPANY
Gryphon Gold is a Nevada corporation in the
business of acquiring, exploring and developing gold properties in
North America.
Our principal asset is the 27.5 square mile Borealis Property
located in the prolific Walker Lane gold belt of western Nevada. The
approximately one square mile "Central Borealis" zone of the
property is CIM-compliant (NI 43-101 accredited) accredited to
contain 1.2 million ounces of measured and indicated gold resources
and 0.6 million ounces of inferred gold resources. Previous
operators mined and heap leached over 600,000 ounces from this zone
during their collective ten-year tenure.
To date, Gryphon Gold has:
Acquired 100% working interest in the Borealis Property
Assembled experienced and qualified geologist and finance team
Initiated comprehensive technical review
Digitized 150,000+ pages of historical analysis
Re-logged the cores and cuttings
Re-interpreted the geological and geophysical data
As a result, acquired additional claims to now hold over 27 square
miles of prospective gold mineralization Completed NI 43-101
compliant Technical Report by Ore Reserves Engineering and reviewed
(for methods and assumptions) by world leading AMEC:
They accredited 41.2 million tons containing 1.2 million ounces
(grading 0.03 ounces/ton) of Measured and Indicated gold resources
plus 31.0 million tons containing 0.6 million ounces of Inferred
gold resources (grading 0.02ounces/ton).
Submitted and received permits for a 10-12-year heap leach mine
Developed an exploration discovery model - identified six similar
targets
Currently:
In January 2007 commenced a $4.5 million, 72-hole drill program in
the Borealis district designed to increase the Graben sulphide
deposit's gold resources and to discover new gold deposits under the
pediments on the property, initially with the drilling of the
Central and Western Pediments located 3.0 km and 5.3km respectively
northwest of the Graben sulphide deposit.
CORPORATE STRENGTHS
We believe that we have the following business
strengths that will enable us to achieve our objectives:
Our management team has significant mining industry experience
ranging from exploration to finance and operation.
Our focus of both external and internal growth
The Borealis Property was the site of surface mining operations from
1981 to 1990. We believe the process to receive permits and start
operations on previously mined operations is less difficult than
getting permits for a previously undisturbed area.
Our land position is extensive, covering approximately 17,600 acres.
We believe many surface showings of gold mineralization on the
property may provide opportunities for discovery of gold deposits.
WHY GRYPHON GOLD
The Team:
Gryphon Gold has a well balanced and experienced corporate team of
geologists and financiers who:
Appreciate the importance of selectivity -- have already twice in
this bull market successfully selected and acquired significant
assets (very big fractured gold bearing systems) by identifying the
previously unrecognized hidden values of the Mulatos deposit (Alamos
Gold Inc) and the Borealis deposits (Gryphon Gold Corporation)
Understand the financial cycles and their relationship to the
commodity cycles -- have timed the purchases during periods of
distress (down cycles) and the capitalization (merging/going public)
during periods of enthusiasm
We have a multi-disciplinary team of geologists, management and
financiers who have a sense of urgency in getting things done with
integrity and humour -- a fun group to work with which helps attract
investors, partners and employees -- and which translates into
Gryphon Gold consistently achieving its objectives, such as adding
value to its acquisitions to benefit its shareholders.
The Asset
Gryphon Gold's current major asset is the Borealis property with
total mineralized material of 72,212,000 tons with an average grade
of 0.025 oz/ton -- gold containing approximately 1,823,000 ounces.
These deposits offer a unique opportunity to develop a "brownfield"
operating gold mine in Nevada with potential for expanding into a
multi-million ounce asset. It may ultimately be capable of
supporting production of 150,000+ ounces gold per year. The property
is located two hours south of Reno (12 miles from the mining town of
Hawthorne) in the prolific Walker Lane gold trend.
In the 1980s, the previous operators profitably mined 635,000 ounces
of gold before the early 1990's gold price decline led to closure of
the Borealis mine. Most of the past exploration drilling was
centered on the initially discovered near surface oxide ore bodies.
With US$20 million of historical exploration and development
expenditures (which generated over 150,000 pages of data including
geophysical surveys, mineralogical studies, metallurgical testing,
etc.) much of the property's near surface oxide and the significant
deeper gold bearing potential already identified remained to be
evaluated.
